Branch event at the Queensland AI Hub
The CEO of Queensland AI Hub and Chair of Robotics Australia Sue Keay will be a special guest speaker at the branch meeting on 26 July. Sue was recognised by RoboHub as one of 2018's 25 Women in Robotics you need to know and as a Superstar of STEM by Science & Technology Australia. Tim Neale, the founder of DataFarming, ICT entrepreneur of the year 2019 and Australian rural consultant of the year will also be a speaker.
Sue is the CEO of Queensland AI Hub. An experienced R&D leader, she has a PhD in Earth Sciences from the Australian National University and an MBA with UQ Business School. With a focus on disruptive technologies, Sue set-up the world’s first robotic vision research centre and led the development of Australia’s first robotics roadmap. She chairs the Board of Robotics Australia Group and serves on the Boards of the CRC for Optimising Resource Extraction, and Women in Robotics International.
Tim Neale Managing Director, DataFarming
Tim is the co-founder of DataFarming which launched its cloud-based platform the Digital Agronomist in October 2017. The first tool to be released was a crop monitoring tool that provides free global access to 10 million satellite maps with NDVI. Fast forward two years to October 2019 and users had mapped over 7.7 million hectares across 14,000 farms worldwide. Tim was ICT Entrepreneur of the Year 2019, and Australian Rural Consultant of the Year 2018.
