The Spatial Industries Business Association (SIBA) in New Zealand was established in 2009. In early 2009, an Interim Committee met to lay down a strategy to bring SIBA New Zealand into reality. The Association has moved quickly to engage with key Agencies and the Government, which resulted in a very important early success with the publication of an economic study of the spatial industry by leading economics consultancy, ACIL Tasman. The Study was commissioned by Land Information New Zealand (LINZ).
